Support Teacher Learning Assistance
The role of the Support Teacher Learning Assistance (STLA) is to support students who are experiencing learning difficulties in numeracy and literacy.
This program caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Students are selected for the program by the Learning Support Team or by their classroom teacher. The Learning Support Team includes the Deputy Principal, the school counsellor, the STLA and a classroom teacher.
In some cases, class programs may only need adjusting to meet a student's needs: at other times it may be necessary to withdraw a student either individually or in a small group for intensive lessons.
