Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Easter Hat Parade
April 2025
Each year, our Kinder to Year 2 students take part in our much-loved Easter Hat Parade. This event is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and celebrate the Easter season together.
Students are encouraged to design and make their own Easter hats at home, using any materials they like—think bright colours, fun decorations, and plenty of Easter cheer! On the day of the parade, students proudly wear their creations as they join their classmates in a joyful procession around the school.
The Easter Hat Parade is always a highlight of our school calendar, bringing smiles, laughter, and a sense of community spirit to everyone involved.
NAIDOC Week
July 2025
Each year, our school proudly celebrates NAIDOC Week, a special time to recognise and honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
During the week, students take part in a range of activities designed to deepen understanding and appreciation of the world’s oldest continuing cultures. These may include art projects, storytelling, music, dance, and learning about significant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders and traditions.
NAIDOC Week is an important part of our school calendar, encouraging all students to come together in respect, reflection, and celebration. It’s a time to listen, learn, and appreciate the rich cultural heritage that continues to shape our shared identity.
Year 5 Snowy and Canberra Excursion
August 2025
Each year, our Year 5 students embark on an exciting excursion to the Snowy Mountains and Canberra, combining adventure, learning, and fun.
This multi-day experience gives students the chance to explore Australia’s capital city and deepen their understanding of our government, history, and national identity. Highlights often include visits to Parliament House, the Australian War Memorial, Questacon, and other key landmarks.
The trip also includes time in the Snowy Mountains, where students experience the natural beauty of the alpine environment and learn about sustainability, geography, and the unique features of this important region.
The Year 5 Snowy Mountains and Canberra Excursion is always a memorable event—one that builds independence, teamwork, and a greater appreciation for Australia’s people, places, and stories.
Year 4 Great Aussie Bush Camp
September 2025
Each year, our Year 4 students take part in an exciting outdoor education experience at the Great Aussie Bush Camp. This camp provides a wonderful opportunity for students to challenge themselves, build confidence, and strengthen friendships in a supportive and fun environment.
Across several days, students enjoy a range of team-building and adventure activities, such as canoeing, archery, flying fox, bushcraft, and initiative games. Through these experiences, they learn the importance of cooperation, resilience, and respect for the natural environment.
The Great Aussie Bush Camp is always a highlight of the Year 4 calendar, giving students a sense of achievement and lasting memories of adventure, laughter, and teamwork.
Mini Fete and Grandparents Day
October 2025
Our annual Mini Fete and Grandparents’ Day is a much-loved event on the school calendar, bringing together students, families, and our wider community for a day of fun and celebration.
The day begins with a warm welcome to our grandparents and special friends, who are invited to visit classrooms, share in learning activities, and enjoy spending time with the students.
Following the classroom visits, everyone is invited to enjoy the Mini Fete, featuring a variety of student-run stalls, games, and treats. The fete encourages creativity, teamwork, and a spirit of giving, with funds raised supporting school initiatives and community causes.
The Mini Fete and Grandparents’ Day is always filled with smiles, laughter, and community spirit — a special celebration of connection and belonging at our school.
